COURSES/LECTURES/POSTERS
Heterocyclic and Synthetic Short Courses
Three short courses are planned on Catalysis (Bert Maes, University of Antwerp, Belgium), Synthetic Chemistry (Gordon Gribble, Dartmouth College, US), and Heterocyclic Chemistry (John Joule, University of Manchester, UK). These are suitable for attendees from both industry and academia. Each short course alone should serve as an introduction or refresher to the particular topic. A Course Manual will be provided that contains copies of lecture slides and references.
Gordon W. Gribble,* Dartmouth College, USA
Applications of Metalation in Heterocyclic Chemistry – Lithium and Magnesium
John A. Joule, The University of Manchester, UK
Thiophenes from Viktor Meyer to Poly(thiophene). Some Reactions and Synthesis
B. U. W. Maes,* University of Antwerp, Belgium
Pd-catalyzed Cross-coupling Reactions: From Fundamental Steps to Catalytic Cycles
Invited Lecturers
Ten sessions of invited lectures will be presented, three of which will run in parallel with the short courses.
